I think it's important to note that the driver is indeed loaded. I've been asked to evaluate and approve a Latitude 5420 also and am seeing the same error message in device manager. What we need to fix this problem is an updated IntelRST driver, either from Dell or Intel, that supports this device hardware id. (The underlying problem is that a driver simply doesn't exist that supports this hardware device id.) Since the hardware id (DEV_A0D3) is embedded inside the hardware, I don't see that a BIOS update, or rollback, will help as that doesn't change the internal embedded hardware id in this device.

Drivers got loaded for all devices except for this one.įYI - I downloaded the Dell WinPE pack drivers and the Dell CAB deployment driver for the Latitude 5420, but these packs also do not contain a storage driver that supports this hardware device id. I re-imaged the computer from scratch and am having the same issue where there is no driver available for the "Standard SATA AHCI Controller" that exists whey you have your Storage option set to AHCI/NVMe mode in BIOS.Īs a final test, I re-imaged again and attempted to load all hardware drivers via Windows Updates from Microsoft. So I flashed the BIOS of the laptop with this version and it does not help resolve the issue of not having a proper IntelRST driver that works with DEV_A0D3 devices. In the Storage menu of the BIOS, it was initially set to "RAID On" mode. Now under the IDE ATA/ATAP Controllers heading I only have ONE entry instead of the original three: Standard SATA AHCI Controller. I went to ASMEDIA website and downloaded their latest SATA Drivers and now under the Storage Controllers heading I have the following 3 entries: two Asmedia 106x SATA Controllers and one Microsoft Storage Spaces Controller. I really appreciate your help! When I first posted a few days back in device manager I had listed under the IDE ATA/ATAP Controllers heading the following 3 entries: Standard SATA AHCI Controller. The Intel sata driver installs with the chipset driver.
